Privacy Policy

A clear explanation of what stays on your device, when network services are used and how location and purchases work.

Effective September 11, 2026
Privacy at a glance. Travel Guide NYC does not require an account. Favorites are stored locally. Location is requested only when you choose a location-based feature. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. The current app does not include advertising, behavioral tracking or a dedicated analytics SDK.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Travel Guide NYC iOS app and the related informational website published by Equilibriumpress. The app is designed as a city guide and does not require registration, sign-in or a user profile.

2. Information stored on your device

The app may store favorites, interface preferences and cached editorial content locally on your device. A read-only editorial snapshot is bundled with the app so core guide content can be available on first launch without a network connection. Equilibriumpress does not operate a user-account database for these local favorites or preferences.

3. Location

The app does not require location simply to browse the guide. If you choose a location-based feature, such as showing your position on the map, calculating distance or finding nearby places, iOS may request permission to use your location while the app is in use.

Location is used to provide the requested map position and distance features. The app does not request background location access, and Equilibriumpress does not intentionally collect or store your precise location on its own servers.

4. Live editorial content

When a network connection is available, the app can retrieve updated places, guides, walks and related editorial information from Notion. Normal internet requests expose technical connection information such as an IP address to the service receiving the request. The app does not intentionally send your favorites, precise device location, name, email address or a user profile to Notion as part of this content refresh.

5. Apple Maps and system services

Travel Guide NYC uses Apple technologies including MapKit and can open Apple Maps for walking directions. Apple may process information required to provide maps, location and navigation features under Apple's own privacy terms. Equilibriumpress does not control Apple's independent processing.

6. Images, YouTube and external media

Editorial images may be loaded from third-party media hosts, including sources used by the guide. When third-party media is requested, the host can receive normal technical connection information such as an IP address and browser or network metadata.

For supported YouTube links, the app can show a YouTube thumbnail in the editorial interface and load an embedded YouTube player after you choose to play the video. YouTube or Google may then process information under their own privacy policies. The app may also open third-party websites such as official venue sites, Wikipedia or Wikivoyage when you choose those links.

7. In-App Purchases

Travel Guide NYC may offer an optional one-time In-App Purchase that unlocks additional guide content. Purchases, payment authorization, billing and the association of a purchase with your Apple Account are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.

The app may receive StoreKit information needed to determine whether purchased content should be available, such as a product identifier, entitlement status and verified transaction information. Equilibriumpress does not receive or store your full payment-card number, bank details or Apple Account password. Purchase restoration is also handled through Apple's StoreKit services.

Apple processes purchase-related information under Apple's own privacy terms and policies. Equilibriumpress uses the purchase information available through StoreKit only to provide, verify, restore or revoke access to the corresponding app content and to support purchase-related troubleshooting.

8. Advertising, analytics and tracking

The current version of Travel Guide NYC does not include third-party advertising, a behavioral advertising SDK or a dedicated analytics SDK. Equilibriumpress does not sell personal information collected through the app.

9. Data retention

Locally stored favorites, preferences and cached content remain on your device until the app replaces or removes them, you delete the app, or iOS otherwise removes local app data. StoreKit purchase records and transaction history may be retained by Apple according to Apple's own policies. Third-party providers may retain technical request information according to their own policies.

10. This website and GitHub Pages

This informational site is hosted using GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical request information needed to deliver the website, such as IP addresses and request logs, in accordance with GitHub's own privacy practices. This website does not intentionally add advertising or behavioral tracking scripts.

11. Security

Network requests use standard encrypted HTTPS connections where supported. Purchase entitlements are checked using information provided and verified through StoreKit. No electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Children

The app is a general travel-information product and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Because no account is required, the app does not intentionally ask users to submit age, identity or profile information. Any App Store purchase controls, including family purchase approval settings where applicable, are managed by Apple and the user's Apple Account settings.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when app functionality, data sources, third-party services, purchase functionality or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are made.

14. Contact

Travel Guide NYC is published by Equilibriumpress. For privacy, purchase-related or support questions, use the Contact & Support option inside the app or the publisher support details accompanying the app in the App Store.
